Music Therapy is the systematic use of music in developing a relationship between the client and therapist to restore, maintain, and improve the physical, emotional, psychosocial, and neurologic function. Music Therapy can be used as a diagnostic aid to identify problem areas such as emotional/psychological issues, family interaction, feeling expression, pain management, and decreased environmental awareness in both verbal and nonverbal individuals (UMDNJ).
